If you'd like to have a feeling of what the old west was like, I can highly recommend spending a day hiking in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. I did that last week. It's located in Southwestern Oklahoma...a short two hour drive from Oklahoma City.
Spring flowers were beautiful and abundant....the bison roaming free were majestic....the prairie dogs were scurrying to manage their daily chores.
Wow, to see the beauty of managing a changing world. We should take lessons from the beautiful bison whose ancestors were on that land long before there were asphalt roads. As I move through my sacred journey, I will remember the message, for me, behind these pictures. Take the changes as they come and see the gifts in enjoying a snack, crossing a road and a quiet rest!
